Happy BC Day!
It's BC day today. And not just any old BC day either. Today celebrates 150 years since BC was founded. This is a cause for much celebration. For our bit of celebrating we cycled to Steveston, in Richmond. It used to be a major fishing port. Nowadays there is still a little fishing, but it relies on the tourists mainly. You can cycle along the dyke round the edge of Richmond for ages and look out over the marshes towards the mountains of the San Juan and Gulf Islands. Being touristy and having a fishing theme, fish and chips is big there. Very big. It's one of the main reasons for going to Steveston in fact. So we did that too! Here's a photo of us on our bikes and here's a picture of our friend Mike attempting to jump off a rock on his bike - and failing.
